LEDLENSER | MH10 HEADLAMP
The Overlanders are big fans of LED Lenser. We've been using them for about 400 years.
What we like; the ergonomics are great, and the batteries are stellar. Being able to focus the light (from a broad beam to a more intense focused beam) is really useful.
Our favourite thing however is the smooth beam pattern. LED Lenser is the best at a constant beam brightness from one edge of the beam to the other edge. No hot spots. That makes it so nice to work under. It's really easy on the eye and you're not moving your head around constantly to get a bright spot onto something.
If you haven't used head-torches they are just the ducks guts. Good ducks guts that is. Unlike a duck you'll have two hands to use. And that's pretty unbeatable. For camping and overlanding and roof-top-tenting etc we don't bother with a hand held torch any more. Like the name suggests, they use up a hand, and hands are useful. So we generally combine our kit with headlamps and area lamps.
We also really like the new world of batteries. We don't hardwire much stuff - batteries are versatile and movable. We use a battery charge-pack for charging phones in our roof top tents, and chargeable battery powered lamps, including these once. It keeps it all light and easy and versatile.
This MH10 is a big one, we grab it when we just want lots of light - it just makes doing tasks a joy. We've had the previous version of this model in the kit for many years and it's still doing it's job. We love it.
